Hi Krzysztof,
Is the Damage program a new program from Bert Tuyt?
After your tournament in 2017 there was discussion about whether Edeon Sport was illegally using Scan's evaluation (taxation of position). Any news on that?

As for the program Damage , this is the last one he made available Bert Tuyt. As for the program Edeon Sport , this is the new version of the program. I asked the programmers of the Edeon Sport program myself if in the program Edeon Sport used some code from the Scan program and I received a reply that the Edeon Sport program is made on the basis of Russian draughts.

Hi Krzysztof,
Great tournament, but i think that for Scan 3.0, itsn't the best move of opening that's activated. Also book-margin it's to much. 4 it's better. This is why it does so many draws.

Strange things you write. See here http://www.uwccpi.draughtsprograms.eu/settings.html how the Scan program is set.Sidiki wrote:Hi Krzysztof,

Hub - On
Variant - Normal
Book - On
Book ply - 4
Book-margin - 4
Ponder - On
Threads - 2
TT-size - 24
BB-size - 6
The program uses from full 6 figure base of endings
It's what is written, by experience, i know that Scan it's more agressive with book-margin = 0 wich it's equal to best move.
But no matter, after all, draughts are puzzle to resolve. So the player that resolve it much better than the others win.
Good tournament my friend.
Sidiki.

round 12, Truus-Dragon
According to the siteThe game ended after move 79.14-5

The result seems to be a draw though Damt db give the win for black.

round 15, Scan-Truus
By analysing the game without time constraint (!) Damy find the following critical phase:

Black to play
Instead of 44....7-12! black plays the losing move 44...11-16?
Then white plays 45...37-32? instead of the winning move 45.37-31!
Finally black answers with the losing move 45...16-21? instead of 45...7-12! =
A dramatical phase isn't it?

Hi Gérard,
Fabien.
Scan improves 37-32 into 37-31 in a few seconds with a convincing score on my machine, so I am not worried. But you are saying that both 7-12 were draws?TAILLE wrote:Instead of 44....7-12! black plays the losing move 44...11-16?

Yes Fabien, Damy finds the draw with both 7-12.Fabien Letouzey wrote:Hi Gérard,

My main variation begins with 44...11-16 45.37-32 7-12 46.32x21 16x27 47.42-37 15-20 48.25x14 9x20 49.30-25 20-24 50.37-32 3-9 51.32x21 9-14 etc. =

Hi Gérard, what are your plans with Damy? Will it remain a private engine? Or do you intend to make it available? ReinTAILLE wrote:Yes Fabien, Damy finds the draw with both 7-12.Fabien Letouzey wrote:Hi Gérard,

As you know very strong programs are already commercialised and in this context Damy will not add very much.
In addition I want two avoid at least two activities which does not look fun for me:
1) Debugging a problem due to configuration quite different from mine
2) Working on protecting my program
I prefer simply exchange freely with you, without any constraint.
FYI I am trying to build a new version based on huge memory now available. On my computer I have 32Gb and I am anticipating a version which need 64Gb of memory due to large evaluation tables.
BTW my current Damy version is not able to play a game! It allows only the analyse of positions.

Why not simply open source it?TAILLE wrote:Hi Rein,Rein Halbersma wrote:Hi Gérard, what are your plans with Damy? Will it remain a private engine? Or do you intend to make it available? ReinTAILLE wrote:
