HI my friend for this great tournament.
The new comer Maximus seem to be strong. Also, i think that it will be better to set Scan book*margin to 0 or max 2. 0 it's better.
Your actual setting make it play no more agressive, so no stronger. Thank.
I think that it's was the same setting in the last tournament.

Hi Krzysztof,

That are quite a lot of rounds!
Which hardware do you use for this tournament, the i7 or the AMD Ryzen?

Exceptionally I am using the i7 processor. Only because Damage is acting up to the i7 processor and i9. Bert Tuyt I would have to do engine updates 1/32. His engine is not running under the processor AMD. An error appears and Damage is stopping acting. Everything is written here, please see Jelle http://www.uwccpi2019.draughtsprograms. ... ation.html

Hi my friend and everybody,

The round 21 opposed Moby Dam VS Scan 3.1 and the game is won by Scan, why the score is 1-1.

If a remember, the last tournament, the game between two others programs was a win for one but was declared draw.

How do you decide the result? change the score please.

Don,t ignore this message please, we want to know who is the best between, Dragon, Kingsrow, Maximus, Scan and Sjende. So we need correct informations !!!!!

I cannot write the win down for Scan program. After 65 moves the assessment of the programme was +6. I could not play farther because a Moby Dam program didn't allow for it. I didn't know what to do about it. The Scan and Moby Dam games have not won or lost. If I write that Scan won, the Moby Dam author can harbour a grudge against me. The same the author of the Scan program can harbour a grudge against me that there is no win.I still thought of repeating the game, but I am not reliable whether it is a better solution.

OK, so what we will remember for, is't a win or what? So take it into account when you will do the pairing score. You said that "After 65 moves the assessment of the programme was +6" so for everybody this score mean a WIN, and i was alarmed when i was to the job by 2 friends, that follow this tournament with a big attention.

If this tournament has for goal to show who is the better, we will be glad that all things are being done in the rules of the art.

Friendly.

Repeat a winning game have no sense. Take it just into account when you will do the ranking. Program has almost the same level and the win rating among them it's not so large. Everybody know That Kingsrow, Scan , Maximus and Dragon are stronger than MobyDam but they don't beat him at 100%.
the win probability it's of 65% against MobyDam.
Plus500 it's the only one program that will lose at 100% against these four program.

Just adjust it on the rank. It's seem more fairly.

You are happy now ????????, you played again and the game finished by a draw.I think that you organize this tournament with the intention to support certains programs. I prefere stopping to assist to your tournament. Do you think that if all the games won by all the programs was played again, the win will be evident. A win it's a win, a lose it's a lose , a draw it's a draw. Good continuation. I am very disappointed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While I was also surprised by the result, Krzysztof might be correct in his decision.
Who knows, maybe 5 kings are not enough against 2 (!); I didn't know that.

Scan's score alone cannot be trusted in the specific case of endgames with many kings. The reason is that Scan has learned from improved draughts variants (my only interest) in which additional material is very beneficial (one piece is usually enough, and one king is overwhelming), contrary to international draughts.

I considered changing king scoring back to what Scan 2.0 did in 2015, namely only give a very small value to additional kings (while the first one gets full value), but surprisingly enough, this loses Elo.
