Re: Internet engine matches

Actually this means that it: Supports to play one game, either manually or via DXP. Takes risks to win a game against a weaker program / human. The drawback is that it will do the same against a top program, which increases the chance to loose against a top program. Utilizes the available processor ...

Re: Internet engine matches

May be I should remind you guys that Sjende Blyn was set to play in a tournament, against different programs of varying strength, where each program runs on a seperate computer. It was not set to play blitz matches, against one program with excellent strength, on one computer. You asked Krzysztof to...

Re: LAN without internet

Because Krzysztof was having problems with playing 158 2-move ballot games with the tournament version of Sjende Blyn, I proposed to make several "quick & dirty" hacks in the program, he accepted, but now is demanding that I develop several other features too. Sorry, but this will not be developed i...

Re: Internet engine matches

Krzysztof, thank you for running the match. I would like to point out what looks like a problem with your match configuration. You have sjende blyn set to use 16 search threads and pondering on, and kingsrow to use 8 search threads and pondering on. That means that both program are searching at the...

Re: Internet engine matches

I am sorry to write so, but you have to ask the developer of the program Sjende Blyn. Krzysztof. Why didn't you ask him? You asked me. But all right: Jelle, can Krzysztof play a match Sjende Blyn vs Scan 3.1? Jan-Jaap Hi Jan-Jaap, You are right !!!! I think that all of the members of this forum are...

Re: Unofficial World Championships Of Computer Programs Rapid 2019

I fixed some bugs and applied changes to the handling of isolated man (geisoleerde schijven) and locks (opsluitingen).
Apparently, it worked :)

Re: Unofficial World Championships Of Computer Programs Rapid 2019

Hi Krzysztof,

That are quite a lot of rounds!
Which hardware do you use for this tournament, the i7 or the AMD Ryzen?

Re: Coding issues

Hi Gérard, I would recommend using const which is not allocated in memory, but is followed by a type such that the compiler can perform type checking. Also I would recommend to use unsigned integers when doing bit mask operations. Actually this is more-or-less a must when you start to shift bits in ...

Re: Sjende Blyn - question

Hi Jelle. I have a question. Please write whether the Sjende Blyn program will be able to run without problems on the processor AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950x. Thank you for information in advance. I assume it will, but to use all 16 wonderfull cores, you will need an update. I will send it to you by...

Re: The Unofficial World Championship Of Computer Programs In International Draughts 2018

I think that Gérard was referring to last year's discoveries. We established that Joost and the authors of Edeon Sport were using Scan's evaluation. Joost wrote about it openly on the forum. I am thinking whether or not the Edeon Sport program would use some function from the Scan program to by at ...
